​The spoon bears a quote from Sir Walter Scott's "Lady Of The Lake" where the character 'Angus' carries a burning cross through the Highlands in order to rally the clans.
​The poem is set near the tourist spot of 'St Bride's Chapel' near Loch Katrine.

The item bears a full set of Birmingham 1904 (e) solid silver hallmarks on the underside of the bowl along with a "C.E.W." manufacturer mark for;
"C. E. Williams."
